Starting in mid-July, Crystal River Cruises is shifting from e-bikes to regular Trek bikes because too many guests were getting injured with the e-bikes.

Walter Littlejohn, vice president of river cruises, said Crystal's experience has been that many guests have not been on a bike for more than a decade, and don't handle the e-bikes successfully.

Crystal delivers the bikes to its four Rhine-class ships, rather than store them onboard.
