Uniworld’s new ship slated to sail the Nile River in Egypt, the S.S. Sphinx, won’t enter service until Sept. 26 because of fire damage.

The Sphinx caught fire at a Cairo shipyard in late November, Uniworld said. After assessing the damage, Uniworld postponed the Sphinx’s scheduled January debut until September.

Uniworld said there were no injuries.

“We recognize full well the tremendous disappointment this news brings, and we are working with travel advisors and affected guests to make alternative travel arrangements on our original ship serving Egypt, River Tosca,” Uniworld said in a statement.
