Average fares for flights
originating from North America have fallen this year,
Expedia said in a report using data culled from ARC.
For the first half the year,
ticket prices for flights departing from North America and Europe are down 2%
from a year earlier. Ticket prices from Asia-Pacific have dropped 7%.
U.S.-Dubai prices
are down 15%, and U.S.-Brazil prices have dropped 17%.
Meanwhile, the strong
dollar is spurring Americans taking trips abroad to lengthen their stays.
Economy-class trips forecasted for August will be 6% longer than a year earlier,
Expedia said.
