American Airlines says it will become the first airline to operate scheduled service between the U.S. and South Caicos in the Turks and Caicos archipelago.

Twice-weekly flights (Wednesdays and Saturdays) between Miami and South Caicos will begin on Feb. 15. The service will operate year-round, said the carrier.

American will use a Embraer 175 plane with 64 seats in economy and 12 in first class.
