American Airlines plans to install Starlink high-speed Wi-Fi on more than 500 narrowbody aircraft, including new Airbus A321XLRs and A321neos.

The airline said installation would start in the first quarter of 2027.

Among other U.S. airlines, United debuted Starlink Wi-Fi last year. In February, Southwest said it would install Starlink WiFi on some of its planes. Alaska Airlines is rolling out Starlink this year; sister carrier Hawaiian Airlines introduced free Starlink WiFi in 2024.

Earlier this spring, Delta announced it selected Amazon Leo for satellite Wi-Fi service.
