Continental Airlines and fellow Star Alliance member TAP Portugal announced today they will begin codesharing Oct. 11 on service to several destinations in the U.S., Central America, Europe and Africa.

Continental's CO code will be shared on seven to 10 weekly TAP-operated flights between Continental's Newark Liberty Airport hub and Portugal.

Select TAP-operated flights to destinations in Portugal, Africa, Spain, Germany, France and the U.K. will also use Continental's code.

TAP will place its TP code on select Continental flights between Newark and 20 other destinations in the U.S. and Mexico as well as daily transatlantic flights to Lisbon.

Members of Continental's frequent flyer program OnePass and TAP's frequent flyer program Victoria will be able to earn and redeem points off of destinations for either airline.
