Delta planeDelta will ramp up its rivalry with Alaska Airlines next spring, when the airline adds five routes from Seattle, all to be operated by Delta Connection partners.

Delta starting June 4 will offer five daily flights to Denver. The Denver-Seattle market is a crowded one, currently served by Alaska, Southwest and United.

Delta also will compete with Alaska in launching four daily flights each to Sacramento, Calif., and Boise, Idaho, on May 4.

Daily seasonal flights from Seattle to two Alaska cities, Sitka and Ketchikan, will start May 15.

"Our newest flights will ensure customers have more choice in their travels to the top destinations in the Western U.S. and Alaska with an experience that can only be offered by a global airline," said Mike Medeiros, Delta’s vice president – Seattle.

Besides the new routes, Delta said it will increase the number of daily flights from Seattle to Anchorage; Atlanta; Calgary, Alberta; Detroit; Los Angeles; San Francisco; and Salt Lake City.
