Delta in deal with Priceline

ATLANTA -- Delta finalized an agreement with Priceline.com. The carrier has been testing the concept, through which airlines can shed unused inventory to fulfill fare bids by consumers, for several months. Separately, the carrier announced a five-year agreement with iXL Inc. here for the development of Web-related products and services to "improve customer service, build internal capabilities and significantly increase revenues from electronic commerce." The first step will be to expand the Delta Web site, SkyLinks, at www.delta-air.com, Delta said.

Under the first year of the contract, iXL will provide $10 million in products and services to Delta through Delta Technology, a subsidiary, Delta said.
