Beginning May 15, Delta customers booking flights from Oct. 1 will see new names for products.
Delta Main will replace Main Cabin, Delta Comfort will replace Comfort Plus (Delta's extra-legroom product), and Delta First will replace First Class. Delta Premium Select and Delta One will remain unchanged.
In addition, Delta will offer three options for the main cabin: Basic, Classic and Extra.
Main Basic will replace Basic Economy but the product itself remains unchanged (seat assigned after check-in, Zone 8 boarding priority, cancellation with a fee for a partial eCredit, no mileage or status credit earned, and no entry into Delta Sky Clubs.
Main Classic bookings earn five miles per dollar spent, a Delta eCredit if canceled, better boarding priority, same-day standby and the ability to choose a seat.
Main Extra bookings receive even higher boarding priority, seven miles per dollar spent and refundability to the original form of payment along with all Main Classic benefits.
The Basic and Classic options will exist across the Delta system, however Basic will be subject to availability. The Extra option will be limited to itineraries originating in the U.S. and Canada and in select international markets. If Extra is not available in a given market, customers will see the legacy Refundable product in its place.
