Runways will remain closed at Denver Airport until at least 2 p.m. local time (4 p.m. Eastern time) Monday.

Close to 900 flights have been canceled at the airport so far Monday, following more than 1,600 cancellations over the weekend, spokeswoman Emily Williams said.

Denver received more than 27 inches of snow from the historic blizzard that hit the Colorado front range over the weekend, the largest storm to hit the city in more than 20 years and the fourth-largest storm on record, according to the Denver Post.
