WASHINGTON -- The Federal Aviation Administration corrected itself
Oct. 10 and said airlines can let customers use automated check-in
kiosks if the airlines adopt "appropriate security measures."
Travelers should check with the individual airline to find out
if its kiosks can be used, the FAA added.
The FAA had put out an Air Traveler Tips press release two days
earlier that said automated kiosks could no longer be available.
The release has since been modified to reflect the correction, and
the Air Transport Association issued a press release to emphasize
the change.
