The decline in tourism numbers for 2025 reported by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority last month was, not surprisingly, evident at the city's Harry Reid Airport, as well.
Almost 55 million passengers went through the airport in 2025, down 5.9% from 2024's record-setting total of 58.4 and 4.6% from 2023, a year that also set a record.
Although the total was still the third-highest in the airport's history, domestic traffic was down 5.9% from 2024 and international traffic was down 7.4%, according to the Clark County Department of Aviation.
Steep drop from Canada
Canadian airlines finished the year with steep drops. WestJet's passenger total for 2025 fell about 28% year over year, while Air Canada's total dropped almost 22%.
Among top five domestic carriers, Southwest (with a 0.8% increase) and United (up 3.2%) reported climbs in their passenger totals. Delta, American and Frontier reported declines.
In October and facing bankruptcy, Spirit Airlines ended services to 11 cities -- eight of them with flights to and from Las Vegas. Spirit's Reid total in 2025 fell 42% from 2024.
Another issue affecting the airport was the longest federal government shutdown in history, which prompted the FAA to briefly reduce the number of flights into Las Vegas in the fall.
