Lufthansa can finally begin selling a large majority of the business-class seats on its newly configured Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners.

The airline received certification for 25 of the 28 seats in the Allegris business class on the Dreamliner.

Lufthansa currently has nine Allegris-configured Dreamliners, and they had been flying with only four business-class seats available for purchase amid an industrywide backlog in seat certifications, which are undertaken by the FAA and the European Union Safety Agency.

All nine of the planes will be flying with 25 available Allegris seats no later than March 18, Lufthansa said. The first such flight traveled March 15 from Frankfurt to Toronto.

Presently, Lufthansa has the Allegris-configured Dreamliner on just one U.S. route, Frankfurt-Austin. Dreamliner service to Los Angeles and New York JFK will start in July.

The Allegris business class is distinctive for the number of seat types within it. The standard business class seat is called Classic. Other seats, sold at a higher price, include the Extra Space Seat with extra legroom, the Privacy Seat by the window, the Extra Long Bed with a longer reclining surface and the Business Class Suite with a privacy door.

Lufthansa also flies Allegris interiors on Airbus A350 aircraft.
