Lufthansa Group airlines will begin rolling out free WiFi in the second half of this year.

The WiFi, to be powered by Starlink, will be free to all flyers with status in Lufthansa Group's Miles & More frequent flyer program. It will also be free to any Miles & More members who registers for the group's digital Travel ID program, which stores a person's personal data, payment details and travel documents for all 10 Lufthansa Group brands in one place, accessible by a single log-in.

The free service will be provided as Lufthansa retrofits its planes with the high-speed Starlink satellite service. The airline group expects its full fleet of approximately 850 planes to be Starlink-equipped by 2029.

The Lufthansa Group airlines are Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian, Brussels, ITA, Air Dolomiti, Edelweiss, Discover and regional carriers Lufthansa CityLine and Lufthansa City Airlines.
