American Airlines has made two bundled fare products available for sale by NDC-enabled travel agencies.

The bundles can purchased through the Amadeus GDS or an American direct connect.

The Main Plus bundle includes a Main Cabin Extra seat along with a free checked bag.

The Corporate Experience bundle, which can be purchased for companies that are members of the carrier's Business Extra reward program, provides flyers with a preferred seat in the economy cabin as well as priority check-in, priority passage through TSA security and priority boarding.

Main Plus is the first NDC-enabled bundle American has put on sale in the leisure channel. The carrier's first NDC-enabled bundle of any sort went on sale in 2019, enabling corporate customers to select a preferred seat in the main cabin and included changeability and an extra bag.

Otherwise, until now American has only deployed NDC for seat selections; post-ticket servicing, such as cancellations; and for private or special fares.

American unveiled the two the new NDC-enabled bundles as it and Amadeus revealed that they have renewed their content agreement. In a joint statement, the companies said that the introduction of the NDC offerings marks a milestone after years of working to make enhanced NDC-enabled content available at scale.

"You'll continue to see more NDC components to package products and services together in the future," American said.

Items in the offing include WiFi, Admirals Club entries and  pre-paid bags and meals.

Also on Tuesday, American made two simplifications to its checked baggage policies. Going forward, all premium economy tickets will include two free checked bags, including tickets to Hawaii and Alaska, for which only one checked bag was previously offered.

Conversely, all longhaul international tickets in the economy cabin will include just one checked bag. Previously, flyers on transpacific routes could check two bags for free.

Finally, American announced that it will begin selling Basic Economy Plus tickets, which include a checked bag, on flights to Asia, Oceana and Israel.
