Omaha's Eppley Airfield, the largest airport in Nebraska, announced a $950 million project to modernize and expand the terminal.
The plan is to nearly double the terminal's size from 375,000 square feet to 646,000. Also, Eppley will build two gates for international flights and a customs hall for international arrivals.
Eppley will also get a single concourse with a centralized TSA screening checkpoint, new restaurants and retail concessions beyond the security checkpoint, and new airline ticketing space.
The project will be rolled out in phases with an estimated completion in 2028. It will be funded from airport revenue, federal grants and future airport bonds, Eppley said.
