WASHINGTON -- Pan Am is requesting Transportation Department approval to operate between New York (Kennedy) and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, with code-share partner APA International Air, beginning March 14.

Subject to approval, Pan Am would carry the Dominican airline's code on a daily nonstop roundtrip flight.

Other DOT filings:

* Delta Air Lines proposed to replace its five weekly one-stop flights between Frankfurt, Germany, and Bucharest, Romania, and its daily one-stop Frankfurt-St. Petersburg, Russia, service with flights operated by Austrian and Swissair.

Delta's code would appear on Austrian and Swissair flights, via Vienna, Austria, and Zurich, Switzerland, respectively, to St. Petersburg, beginning March 7.

On April 8, Delta's code would appear on its alliance partners' flights, via Vienna and Zurich, to Bucharest.

* Aeromexico filed to operate between Cozumel, Mexico, and Miami with code-share partner Mexicana, beginning Feb. 13.

The carriers initially would offer one daily roundtrip service under the code-share deal, but Aeromexico said it might decide to serve the market with its own aircraft in the future.

* Turkish Airlines sought authority to operate between Istanbul, Turkey, and Chicago beginning May 7.
