Amtrak is paying employees to take Covid-19 vaccines, a company spokesperson told Business Travel News.

Employees who submit documentation of receiving the vaccine will receive two hours of pay for each vaccine they take. In addition, Amtrak employees who miss work due to vaccine side effects will have their absence excused and pay protected for up to 48 hours after vaccination.

With appropriate medical services documentation, Amtrak also will protect pay for employees who are unable to work more than 48 hours after vaccination, according to the spokesperson. Amtrak's goal is to have 100% of its employees vaccinated.
