LAS VEGAS -- At Caesars Palace, all roads lead to a new $4.5 million, 5,000-seat special-events center.

Caesars Pavilion, located adjacent to the Appian Way shopping area and the Palace Tower, breathes "new lifeblood into the property" for conference-goers, who represent 30% of the total client mix, according to John Yaskin, vice president of sales.

Caesars chose to mainstream the 50,000-square-foot pavilion on the entrance level of the resort, on space formerly occupied by a conference center and the Circus Maximus showroom.

Supported by a seven-member team of convention coordinators, the special-events center is equipped with fiberoptic networking and audiovisual equipment. Leisure time planners also are available.

The pavilion, with its 60-foot ceiling, is an ideal backdrop for giant-screen presentations and displays staged by Caesars' production team, Yaskin said. The facility is serviced by a catering staff.

The pavilion, together with the existing Palace Tower conference center, brings the total meetings space at Caesars to 110,000 square feet.

With the opening of the pavilion, Caesars relocated its business center to the main level as well, providing a one-stop opportunity for all groups, Yaskin said.

Palace Tower guest rooms are equipped with data ports.

For group reservations, call (800) 933-7110 or (702) 731-7110. For more information on Caesars Palace, check the Web at www.caesars.com.

With dish, delegates can keep in touch

LAS VEGAS -- A Caesars Palace satellite dish beams conference events to delegates' home offices for instant TV replay.

The resort's ability to uplink action via satellite allows immediate distribution of important conference events, such as press conferences and announcements.

In turn, feedback from corporate executives may be downlinked at the convention site. An internal system of signals can relay TV sports and other broadcasts to any meeting area.

Meeting groups have high-speed access to the Internet via T1 lines and may transmit radio interview broadcasts over ISDN lines.

Caesars' convention facilities feature wireless microphones; audio mixing boards and recording equipment; audiovisual and computer link capabilities, and teleprompters.
