The U.S. State Department on Sunday issued a general alert for Americans traveling abroad, following President Trump's announcement on Saturday that the U.S. did air strikes on Iran's nuclear sites.
Iran and Israel have been at war since June 13, when Israel launched a strike that reportedly killed Iranian military commanders and nuclear scientists.
"The conflict between Israel and Iran has resulted in disruptions to travel and periodic closure of airspace across the Middle East," the State Department said. "There is the potential for demonstrations against U.S. citizens and interests abroad. The Department of State advises U.S. citizens worldwide to exercise increased caution."
