Benchmark Hospitality International founder Burt Cabanas will step down as CEO of the resort management company, and will be succeeded by son Alex Cabanas on Jan 1. Burt Cabanas will remain chairman, focusing on growth opportunities.
Alex Cabanas has been with the company since 2006, serving as president of business development and finance, among other roles.
Founded in 1980, Houston-based Benchmark Hospitality oversees 40 properties that collectively generate revenue of more than $500 million dollars. Those properties include Villas of Grand Cypress in Orlando; Snow King Hotel in Jackson Hole, Wyo.; and Sorrento Hotel in Seattle.
