Barneys New York to anchor shopping complex at Vegas' Palazzo

Barneys New York, one of the Big Apple's top clothing retailers, will open a flagship store at the expanded Venetian Resort Hotel Casino when The Shoppes at The Palazzo, the resorts new 450,000-square-foot upscale retail complex debuts in 2007.

The retail complex will be part of the 3,000-room Palazzo Resort Hotel Casino, a new $1.6 billion property currently under construction here by Las Vegas Sands Corp., owner of the Venetian Resort Hotel Casino.

The Palazzo also is slated to open in 2007 and will be located on the Las Vegas Strip next to sister property, The Venetian.

"Barneys is the preeminent name in luxury retail and is a perfect match for the style and sophistication visitors have come to expect at The Venetian and will soon experience at The Palazzo," said Robert Goldstein, president of The Venetian and The Palazzo, in a statement.
