Nobu Hospitality has broken ground on Chicago's first Nobu hotel. The hotel is due to open in the city’s West Loop district in late 2017.

The Nobu Chicago will have 103 rooms as well as an indoor/outdoor rooftop lounge. The property will also feature a 10,000-square-foot Nobu restaurant on its ground floor.

Actor Robert DeNiro and Japanese chef Nobu Matsuhisa, partners who built the Nobu restaurant empire, also are partners in the hotel business. Nobu's first hotel opened inside of the Caesars Palace Las Vegas in 2013, followed by a hotel in Manila, Philippines, 2014. The Nobu Hotel at Eden Roc Miami Beach is due to open later this year.
