Disney has released new guidelines
on how it will operate the virtual queue
for its new and popular attraction, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.
Since its Dec. 5 opening at Disney’s Hollywood Studios,
guests have been able to access a virtual queue system, requesting a slot to
visit the attraction when they visit the park. The virtual queue has been
opening as guests were let into the park, typically before its official opening
time, but Disney confirmed that the virtual queue will now open at the park’s
published opening time.
“As more and more guests ride Star Wars: Rise of the
Resistance, we’ve been testing new ideas to make the overall experience the
best it can be,” Disney said in a post on its Disney Parks Blog. “We’ve been
learning so much and are focused on continuing to make the process of getting
into the park and onto the attraction even better every day and want to ensure
all of our guests know what to expect when visiting Disney’s Hollywood
Studios.”
Disney said guests might still be allowed to enter the park
before it opens, with access to spots like the Trolley Car Cafe and Keystone
Clothiers, but the virtual queue will open at the published opening time.
Guests enter the virtual queue using the My Disney
Experience app.
Disney also confirmed it will continue to make “backup”
boarding groups available once all the initial boarding groups have been
filled. If the attraction has the capacity for more guests once all boarding
groups have been called for the day, the backup groups will be called.
Disney has guest experience teams posted around the park to
assist guests should they need help.
