The DoubleTree by Hilton Los Angeles Downtown opened at the former site of the Kyoto Grand Hotel and Gardens in downtown Los Angeles.
The 434-room hotel, located in the city's Little Tokyo district, is near completion of a multi-million-dollar renovation that will include new in-room flat screen TVs and updates to the property's half-acre, Japanese-inspired rooftop gardens.
Rim Hospitality is managing the property, which has 15,000 square feet of meetings space, including a ballroom that can accommodate as many as 650 people.
The hotel, which first opened in 1977 as the New Otani, is one block from Los Angeles City Hall. It is just the second in downtown Los Angeles for Hilton Worldwide, which also operates the Hilton Checkers hotel near downtown's Bunker Hill.
