Dolce Hotels & Resorts has selected a name for its Lake Las Vegas resort: Ravella. The resort will open Feb. 11.
The hotel is the former Ritz-Carlton at Lake Las Vegas, which closed last May. In September, property owner Village Hospitality LLC (an arm of Deutsche Bank) selected Dolce to manage the resort, which is in Henderson, 17 miles east of the Las Vegas Strip.
The Ravella name is based on the picturesque town of Ravello on Italy’s Amalfi Coast, Dolce said.
Dolce said the lobby has been redesigned to be a "high-energy, social gathering spot." Ravella will have 349 guestrooms featuring spa-style marble bathrooms.
Other resort features are the Spa at Ravella, the Medici Cafe and 39,000 square feet of meetings space.
Ravella will join two existing resorts in the Lake Las Vegas development: the Aston MonteLago Village and the Loews Lake Las Vegas.
The development was struggling even before the recession hit. After two years operating under bankruptcy protection, Lake Las Vegas emerged from Chapter 11 last July.
Two of Lake Las Vegas' three golf courses are closed, and the development hasn't offered gambling since the Casino MonteLago closed last March.
Dolce, a company that specializes in conference hotels, operates 27 hotels in North America and Europe. Ravella is the company's first hotel in the Las Vegas area.
