Celebrated chef Alain Ducasse and France-based LOV Hotel
Collection have been selected to open a hotel and restaurant at the Palace of
Versailles.
Versailles’ Grand Controle and Pettit Controle buildings
will be redeveloped as a 20-room hotel and a French haute cuisine restaurant.
The 17th century buildings have sat empty since 2008.
Ducasse has more than two dozen restaurants, including Champeaux
in Paris, Alain Ducasse at the Dorchester in London, and the Benoit New York.
The LOV Hotel Collection’s half-dozen properties include Les Airelles in the
French Alps and La Bastide de Gordes in southeastern France.
The Palace of
Versailles didn’t disclose further details, though the buildings, which take up
about 30,000 square feet, will require about $15 million in upgrades.
The restaurant and hotel will open in 2018, according to
CTV News.
