The West Virginia coal and agriculture magnate who bought the historic Greenbrier out of bankruptcy last year has expanded his resort portfolio.
Businessman Jim Justice's company, Justice Family Group, has purchased the Resort at Glade Springs for an undisclosed price. The resort is in Daniels, W. Va., 39 miles from the Greenbrier and about an hour's drive from Charleston.
"The Resort at Glade Springs is an ideal addition to the amenities and services offered to our clientele at the Greenbrier," said Justice. "With this acquisition, Glade Springs will become an outpost to the Greenbrier, and it allows the Greenbrier to be so much closer to all the wonderful West Virginia outdoor adventures, such as rafting, skiing and ATV riding.
"The sister resort relationship offers both resorts the opportunity to present a broader range of options in price and quality to their many loyal guests and corporate clients."
The previous owner, EMCO Hospitality, will continue to manage Glade Springs and will continue to employ existing staff, Justice said.

The Resort at Glade Springs is located on 4,100 acres. It has 203 rooms, cottages and villas; more than 15,000 square feet of meeting and event space; three 18-hole golf courses; a spa; an equestrian center; indoor and outdoor pools; bowling; tennis; and a myriad of outdoor adventure offerings.
The Greenbrier, a National Historic Landmark that dates to 1778, has 771 rooms, three golf courses, indoor and outdoor tennis courts and a 40,000-square-foot spa.
