ATLANTA -- Holiday Inn Express is bringing back two of its popular
"Stay Smart" TV commercials.
The award-winning commercials, which made their debut in 1998,
feature average people who become smarter after a night's stay at a
Holiday Inn Express property.
Starting July 18, the "Meltdown" ad, in which a person on a tour
of a nuclear plant helps technicians avert a meltdown in progress
because he stayed at a Holiday Inn Express will begin airing. The
other commercial involves a virus.
"The spots haven't aired in several years, but they still get
talked about even today," said Jenifer Zeigler, senior vice
president of marketing for the Holiday Inn Express brand. "The
'Stay Smart' commercials continue to resonate with consumers and
their overall response to the campaign has been tremendous."
Holiday Inn Express said the "classic" 30-second spots will run
on national cable outlets including ESPN, CNN, Cartoon Network,
Bravo, MSNBC, TBS and the Discovery Channel throughout the
summer.
