Houston’s second JW Marriott hotel is due open next spring, after developer Pearl Hospitality converts the historic Samuel F. Carter Building into a 323-room hotel.

The JW Marriott Houston Downtown, which will cost $80.8 million to redevelop, will include 10,000 square feet of meeting space as well a spa and health club. The city of Houston is contributing $7.4 million to the project.

There are 60 JW Marriott hotels in 24 countries, including the 515-room JW Marriott Houston.
