Hyatt Hotels reached an agreement to take over management of the 46-year-old Kilimanjaro Hotel in Tanzania. Hyatt replaces Kempinski as the hotel's operator.

The 180-room hotel was renamed the Hyatt Regency Dar Es Salaam, the Kilimanjaro. It is Hyatt's first hotel in Tanzania.

The hotel has two restaurants, three bars and about 10,000 square feet of meeting space.

The Kilimanjaro, built by the Tanzanian government in 1965, had a $55 million renovation in 2005 and had since operated as the Kilimanjaro Hotel Kempinski.
