W Hotels opens its first outpost in Japan

W Hotels has planted its first flag in Japan with the opening of the W Osaka.

Located within Osaka's Shinsaibashi shopping district, on Midosuji Boulevard, the 27-story, newbuild hotel has 337 guestrooms, including 35 suites. Accommodations feature floor-to-ceiling windows and bathrooms with rainfall showerheads, among other amenities.

An Extreme WOW Penthouse Suite, which is the W brand's take on a presidential suite, is perched on the hotel's top level and includes over 2,100 square feet and five rooms. The suite offers features like an oversize chrome tub, an open kitchen and a built-in DJ booth.

The W Osaka is home to several restaurant and bar venues, including bistro-diner concept Oh.Lala, helmed by acclaimed chef Yusuke Takada, and Teppanyaki Mydo, which serves up locally inspired dishes. An omakase restaurant, Sushi Ukiyo, is also on offer, as is the pool-adjacent Wet Bar and the Living Room lobby bar.

Other hotel highlights include a fitness area with yoga room, an Away Spa and event and meetings spaces, including a ballroom.
