Joie de Vivre Hotels will open its first East Coast property in Miami Beach this summer, marking parent company Commune Hotels & Resorts’ continued expansion in the Miami area.

The hotel, named The Hall, will be redeveloped out of what is the Haddon Hall Hotel as well as its adjacent apartment building. The hotel, at Collins Avenue and 15th Street, will have 164 guestrooms.

Most of Joie de Vivre’s 27 hotels are in California. Eight are in San Francisco.

Commune Hotels, run by Hyatt Hotels scion John Pritzker, opened its first Miami Beach hotel under the Thompson brand last November. The 380-room Thompson Miami Beach is about two miles north of The Hall. It was redeveloped out of what was previously the Crown.

The Thompson Miami Beach was redeveloped out of a property formerly known as the Crown; a previous version of this article referred to the property as the Churchill Suites Crown.
