IHG Hotels & Resorts plans to open the first all-inclusive resort for its upper-upscale Kimpton brand.

Scheduled to open in early 2024 in Mexico's Playa del Carmen, the Kimpton Hacienda Tres Rios Resort, Spa & Nature Park will be operated by all-inclusive specialist Playa Hotels & Resorts.

The property will be a rebranding of the Hacienda Tres Rios Resort, which opened in November 2008. The resort will undergo an interior renovation and relaunch with 255 rooms, 11 culinary venues, five swimming pools, a spa and fitness center, a kids' club and 26,200 square feet of meeting and events space.

The property will also offer guests exclusive access to the surrounding Tres Rios Nature Park, a privately-owned preserve spanning 326 acres and featuring 10 cenotes.

The Kimpton Hacienda Tres Rios Resort also marks the first partnership between Kimpton and Playa, which has all-inclusive management partnerships with other major brands, including Hilton, Hyatt and Wyndham.

The Kimpton Hacienda Tres Rios Resort will be the Kimpton brand's second property in Riviera Maya, joining the 72-room Kimpton Aluna Hotel.
