Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants will add hotels in Charlotte, N.C., next year.
The boutique-hotel operator will
open a 216-room hotel in Charlotte’s downtown area next fall. The property,
which will be developed by Spectrum Properties and Cornerstone Real Estate
Advisors, will have a restaurant and rooftop bar.
Kimpton will also add a 128-room
hotel in Charlotte’s Dilworth district that will be developed by Catellus
Group. That property will have
a rooftop lounge with views of downtown.
Kimpton, which was acquired by InterContinental Hotels Group
last year, continues to broaden its presence throughout
the U.S. South. Hotels in Winston-Salem, N.C., and Savannah, Ga., are scheduled to open this year.
