The Glover Park Hotel, Kimpton’s 10th in Washington, D.C., will
open on Wednesday.
The 154-room hotel is opening at the site of what was
previously the Savoy Suites.
The property, redeveloped by Foxhall Partners and Iron Point
Partners, will include 25 rooms with unobstructed views of the National Mall
and Potomac River, and those rooms will have telescopes.
Additionally, the hotel will feature a 156-seat Italian
restaurant helmed by Michael Schlow, who the James Beard Foundation named “best
chef in the Northeast” in 2000. The property will also have an
1,800-square-foot ballroom.
The hotel was named for Charles Carroll Glover, a
philanthropist who was key in creating Rock Creek Park, the National Zoo and
Potomac Park, among other public areas.
