The Ritz-Carlton Lake Tahoe will add a club facility on the shores of North Lake Tahoe next summer.

The Lake Club will be in Tahoe Vista, about 9 miles southeast of the Ritz-Carlton Lake Tahoe, which sits mid-mountain at the Northstar ski resort. The project broke ground last week.

The club will be designed with cedar and stone features as well as floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the lake, and will include 2,200 square feet of dining and lounge areas plus a 2,000-square-foot lawn.

The facility will also include showers and changing facilities as well as a private pier allowing for boat launches, parasailing, water skiing, wake surfing and charter fishing.

The 170-room Ritz-Carlton Lake Tahoe opened in 2009.
