Ritz-Carlton is planning to open a Portland property that will be the brand's first hotel in the Pacific Northwest.

Scheduled to open by early 2023, the Ritz-Carlton Portland will be in a new 35-story building near the Pioneer Place shopping district. The building will include a mix of office and retail space.

The property will have 251 guestrooms and 138 residential units, with hotel guests and residence owners having separate entrances. There will be a fitness center, a full-service spa and swimming pool on the 19th floor, and 13,000 square feet of meeting and event space.

Residence owners will have access to exclusive amenities, such as an 8th floor owner's lounge and fitness facility.

Development plans call for multiple food and beverage venues, including a ground-floor food hall and an indoor/outdoor restaurant and bar on the building's 20th floor, which promises panoramic views of Portland and the Cascade Mountain Range.
