Rocco Forte Hotels plans to open The Carlton Milan, the luxury brand's second hotel in the Italian city, in late summer.

The property on Via della Spiga is the former Baglioni Hotel Carlton. Rocco Forte director of design Olga Polizzi is collaborating with interior designers Paolo Moschino and Philip Vergeylen on a refurbishment.

Rocco Forte Hotels said, "Elegant interiors and furnishings will accompany inviting and intimate spaces, combined to create a traditional, luxury Milanese hotel with elements of surprise."

The hotel will have approximately 70 rooms and suites, a restaurant and lounge bar, a rooftop panoramic bar, and a wellness center with a gym and spa.

Last September, Rocco Forte opened its first Milan property, the 11-apartment Rocco Forte House Milan on the city's Via Alessandro Manzoni.
