Starwood has changed the name of the 694-room Sheraton Cable Beach Resort in the Bahamas to the Sheraton Nassau Beach Resort.

The name change came in response to Nassau's increased recognition as a vacation destination among travelers to the region, according to Tim Rector, vice president of sales and marketing for Starwood's Caribbean region.

"The new name capitalizes on Nassau's growing appeal while also preserving our beach location," Rector said.
