Marriott International's St. Regis Hotels & Resorts has debuted St. Regis Estates, a new brand tier.
St. Regis senior vice president and global brand leader George Fleck said the St. Regis Estates concept draws inspiration from the Astor family's historic country estates. The Astors, a prominent Gilded Age family, founded the original St. Regis Hotel in New York in 1904.
The St. Regis Estates portfolio will showcase luxury properties with "significant history, expansive grounds and extraordinary amenities."
"Each estate is chosen for its narrative power, architectural character and expansive, cinematic setting, offering a more enchanted and deeply residential resort experience," said Fleck.
The first St. Regis Estate will be The Resort at Pelican Hill near Newport Beach, California, which will be renamed The Resort at Pelican Hill, A St. Regis Estate in 2027, following a renovation. Marriott International assumed management of the resort last year, announcing that it would eventually join the St. Regis portfolio.
As part of the revamp, the 504-acre resort will upgrade its Tom Fazio-designed golf courses, redesign its bungalows and villas, and add a new chef-led culinary venue.
Other planned enhancements include updates to the property's pool, spa, bar and lobby, as well as the addition of a new pool cafe and clubhouse.
The property will also introduce signature St. Regis amenities, including butler service, afternoon tea and a champagne sabrage.
