Westin Lagunamar Ocean Resort VillasStarwood Hotels & Resorts launched its first all-inclusive packages at Westin, Sheraton and Le Meridien resorts in Cancun, Puerto Vallarta and Los Cabos, Mexico.

As economic recovery continues, hotels are filling up and rates are on the rise, but Mexico is a notable exception, said Trip Barrett, vice president of brand managaement for Starwood's Latin America division.

All-inclusive packages can be booked through Dec. 15.

"Due to the recent negative headlines, people are thinking twice about vacationing in Mexico, but what many do not realize is the most of the incidents occur hundreds of miles from Mexico’s most popular vacation spots," said Barrett. "As a result, Mexico is a great deal right now, and our resorts are in locations that are safe, fun and accessible."

The properties include the Westin Resort & Spa, Los Cabos; the Westin Lagunamar Ocean Resort Villas and the Westin Resort & Spa, both in Cancun; the Westin Resort & Spa, Puerto Vallarta; the Sheraton Hacienda del Mar Golf & Spa Resort, Los Cabos; Sheraton Buganvilias Resort & Convention Center, Puerto Vallarta, and Le Meridien Cancun Resort & Spa.

Rates for two start at $155 per night and include three meals a day; all drinks; free meals for kids age 4 and under and 50% off for kids ages 5 to 12; in-room mini-bar with water, beer and soda; and free Internet.
