AMResorts, a subsidiary of Apple Leisure Group, will debut the Sunscape Puerto Vallarta in mid-December.
The family-friendly resort will be AMResorts' fourth property in Puerto Vallarta and is the company's 13th resort announced in 2015.
The property, currently the Holiday Inn Puerto Vallarta, will close on Aug. 15 for an extensive renovation of guestrooms and facilities. Enhancements will include connecting rooms and in-room children's amenities, six dining options and six bars and the addition of an Explorer's Club for kids.
The beachfront resort overlooks Banderas Bay and is convenient to the airport, Puerto Vallarta's Malecon boardwalk and two shopping malls.
Other AMResorts properties in the destination are Secrets Vallarta Bay Puerto Vallarta, Now Amber Puerto Vallarta and Dreams Villamagna Nuevo Vallarta.
