The Fives Downtown Hotel & Residences in Playa del
Carmen, Mexico, has opened.
The 93-room hotel is Mexico's first to be part of Hilton's
Curio collection of independently run properties.
The Fives features a rooftop area called Purobeach, which
has a 160-foot-long infinity pool overlooking the Caribbean and offers guests
massage services. Purobeach's restaurant features cuisine ranging from Moroccan
to Latin American to Australian.
The hotel also has bar called El Tigre, which serves more
than 100 types of tequilas and mezcals, and a traditional Italian restaurant
called Mercatto.
Located two blocks from Playa del Carmen's beach and a block
from the shops of Fifth Avenue,
The Fives features traditional Mexican decor and color
splashes, plus a courtyard with a vertical garden and modern, locally based
artwork.
