The Thompson Miami Beach is opening Oct. 1, and the new hotel is taking reservations.
Built with a wave design by French architect Rudy Ricciotti, the 147-room Thompson will open at 17th Street and Washington Avenue, offering proximity to South Beach landmarks like the New World Symphony Center and the Fillmore Miami Beach at Jackie Gleason Theater.
The luxury hotel's guestrooms will have floor-to-ceiling windows and private balconies or terraces. Room amenities will include velvet beds and other bespoke furniture, Sferra linens and locally sourced toiletries.

The hotel's fourth level will be home to an atrium garden with food and beverage service, plus space for events and programming. An indoor-outdoor restaurant and bar will be operated through a partnership with a yet-to-be-announced hospitality company.
The Thompson will also feature a rooftop area with a pool.
The opening marks a return of Hyatt's lifestyle Thompson brand to Miami Beach. The former Thompson hotel was renamed The Confidante after Hyatt acquired the hotel in 2016, and reopened as the Andaz Miami Beach in June after a top-to-bottom overhaul.
The Miami Beach hotel will be Thompson's 18th, according to Thompson's website.
