The placement of the final beam on the 700-foot Guitar Hotel at the Hard Rock Las Vegas Hotel & Casino was celebrated on May 1.
Hard Rock International executive leadership, the Seminole Tribal Council and construction partners from the Penta Building Group and McCarthy Building Companies were among those who attended.
"Topping out this project represents far more than a construction milestone -- it marks a defining moment in reshaping the Las Vegas skyline and introducing a new city icon," said Jeff Walker, Penta's vice president of construction.
Hard Rock International acquired the Mirage from MGM Resorts International in late 2022 for $1.1 billion. Construction began in 2024 after the Mirage and its iconic faux volcano closed.
The gold-tinted windows of the Mirage's old tower are being replaced with blue-tinted windows to match the new tower -- a symbol of the redesign and renovation taking place inside the property.
The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and Guitar Hotel Las Vegas, which will employ about 6,000 people, is expected to open in the fourth quarter of 2027.
"We are grateful to our construction teams and their commitment to safety as we watch this property undergo the most significant transformation the Strip has seen in two decades, and we are proud to be at the center of it," said Jim Allen, CEO of Seminole Gaming and chairman of Hard Rock International.
The new property will feature more than 3,700 hotel rooms, about 175,000 square feet of gaming space, more than 200,000 square feet of meeting space, new restaurants, lounges and retail outlets. About 600 rooms will be in the guitar-shaped tower.
