ATLANTA -- U.S. Franchise Systems, the hotel group that
franchises the budget Microtel and upscale extended-stay Hawthorn
Suites brands, said it will acquire the midpriced Best Inns and
Suites brand. USFS will manage 28 of the 34 Best Inns, marking a
departure from its role as a pure franchisor.
