Themed hotels may have gone the way of the cheap buffet in Las Vegas, but themed rooms and suites have long been the rage. Rumor, the 150-suite boutique hotel and signature property in the Siegel Suites' portfolio, recently unveiled four themed mega-suites, each of which showcases its own design and feel.
The suites, with weekday rates beginning at $350 and $500 on weekends, face into Rumor's signature 30,000-square-foot courtyard with hammock-strung palm trees, grassy knolls and pools.
In the Swinger Mega-Suite, mirrored stripes zigzag the walls throughout the black bedroom area. Bookending the California-king bed propped on a small stage with spotlights at the foot of the bed are crisscrossed metal poles.
The Gossip Mega-Suite boasts shades of hot and pale pink with splashes of fuchsia. Mirrored stripes of bright pink traversing in multiple directions are noticeable upon entry.
Blue camouflage swirls around the guests from floor to ceiling in the Camouflage Mega-Suite. The tri-colored effect is also layered with barren black trees with twigs at the top. The bed has blue, white and silver throw pillows with a mirror hung right above it. Dark- and pale-gray tile stripe the floors both inside the bedroom and bathroom.
The Diva Mega-Suite features black floral painting against deep red walls. It has two queen beds with white sheets and black and silver throw pillows that face one another, with plush fabric headboards stretching across the walls and ceiling.
Each suite is 1,000 square feet. The first-floor Swinger and Gossip suites open up to a large, oversized patio just steps from the pool and the courtyard, and the second-floor Diva and Camouflage suites come complete with French doors opening up to an oversized balcony with lounge chairs to survey the action below. Other features include iPod docking stations; wet bar; mini refrigerator; four-seater high boys with a glass top; two custom-made couches with throw pillows; coffee table; and a 60-inch plasma TV in the bedroom/living room area and a 32-inch plasma in the bathroom.
Speaking of the bathroom, every suite is also equipped with an "ultra-lounge/party bathroom" featuring a 10-person, open shower with two rainfall showerheads and a plush, U-shaped couch that seats 10.
"Las Vegas has always been known for its luxurious suites, but at Rumor, we are always trying to push the envelope; I believe our suites will be talked about long after the guest heads back home. They are sophisticated and sleek, but more importantly, they are definitely sexy and eccentric," Stephen Siegel, founder and COO of the Siegel Group, said in a statement. "Our bathrooms will definitely be the buzz feature. We figured there was no reason for the party to end in the bedroom, so we decided to create the first bathroom party/lounge in Las Vegas."
Rumor is located on Harmon Avenue and across the street from the Hard Rock hotel-casino. The hotel's restaurant, Addiction, features American cuisine and is helmed by chef Vic Vegas. The property welcomes guests of all ages as well as pets less than 25 pounds. Those interested in room reservations or more information can call (877) 997-8667 or log on to www.rumorvegas.com.
