Virgin Hotels has announced an updated opening timeline for its Virgin Hotels Las Vegas casino resort project, while also unveiling plans to launch both the Virgin Hotels New Orleans and the Virgin Hotels New York City later this year.
After postponing its January debut due to the pandemic, the Virgin Hotels Las Vegas is now scheduled to open this spring as part of Hilton's Curio Collection portfolio. Formerly the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas, the revamped resort will house just over 1,500 guestrooms and a 60,000-square-foot casino.
That opening will be followed by the debut of the Virgin Hotels New Orleans this summer. Located near the city's Central Business District, the 230-plus-room property will feature an outpost of the brand's Commons Club food-and-beverage concept as well as a rooftop pool and lounge, gym and meeting and event spaces.
In the fall, the Virgin Hotels New York City is set to debut in Manhattan's NoMad neighborhood. Spanning 463 rooms, the high-rise project will feature ground-floor and second-floor retail space, as well as amenities like a pool, several dining outlets and a rooftop bar.

According to Virgin Hotels CEO Raul Leal, the company is "very optimistic about the return of travel despite the tremendous difficulties posed by Covid-19."
In addition to its 2021 expansion plans, Virgin Hotels says it's on track to open the 225-room Virgin Hotels Edinburgh in Scotland in 2022 as well as the Virgin Hotels Miami, which will house nearly 250 guestrooms, by 2023.
Virgin Hotels' footprint currently includes properties in Chicago, Dallas and Nashville.
