Universal Orlando Resort's waterpark, Volcano Bay, will sunset its TapuTapu wearable device and virtual line system on Oct. 1.

"This will allow guests to access attractions queues at their leisure," Universal said.

When Volcano Bay opened in May 2017, Universal touted the TapuTapu bracelet as a way to cut down on long queues at the park. Guests tap their device to a totem for the attraction they want to ride and receive a time to return for their ride. However, guests can only enter one virtual queue at a time.

Universal also announced that Volcano Bay will close for maintenance on Oct. 26, 2026. The park is expected to reopen on or before March 24, 2027.

Universal Orlando did not say what attractions will be updated.
